Ahrens Lab @ HHMI Janelia

the neuroscience of control and learning across brain and body

The lab seeks to understand how flexible, learned behavior arises from interactions across large neural circuits, cells, and molecules across the brain and the entire body. We combine question-driven research, technology development, computational neuroscience, and machine learning. We are currently focused on larval zebrafish as a model organism, exploring computation and learning in neurons and astroglia across the entire brain, as well as tissues and organs in the rest of the body.
